Professional Background

As a prosecutor, Kevin was known as a fierce but fair litigator.  Kevin began his career working for the Solano County District Attorney where he was assigned to the misdemeanor unit.  Kevin quickly gained a reputation as one of the top DUI prosecutors in the county, training other deputy district attorneys and advising law enforcement agencies on the investigation and prosecution of DUIs. Kevin also took on some of the more serious misdemeanor crimes such as vehicular manslaughter, sexual battery, and exhibiting a firearm.  In his tenure, Kevin handled hundreds of pretrial motions, numerous probation violations, and various appeals.

After leaving Solano County, Kevin joined the Tuolumne County District Attorney where his work focused on prosecuting juvenile crimes and representing juveniles in dependency matters, as well as conducting felony trials.  Kevin also became the principle filing deputy for the county, evaluating each drug and alcohol DUI to determine whether or not and what charges would be filed.  As a juvenile prosecutor, Kevin worked closely with the probation department and local school districts in the prosecution and resolution of various juvenile crimes from petty theft and vandalism to sex crimes.

After leaving the District Attorney, Kevin worked for one of the nation's largest defense firms, Wood, Smith, Henning & Berman.  Kevin's work focused primarily on insurance defense, handling a variety of complex civil litigation issues including personal and catastrophic injury, wrongful death, construction defect, wage and employment, and landlord/tenant disputes. Kevin's representation as part of a litigation team included working for multiple companies listed on Fortune 500 and aggressively defending civil lawsuits filed against his clients.

As a defense attorney, Kevin has worked to aid and assist his clients to navigate their way through the court system while working to come to a just outcome.  Kevin has employed the skills and knowledge he gained through his work as a prosecutor to advise defense attorneys and prosecutors alike throughout California and other states.
