
Professional Background
As a prosecutor, Kevin was known as a fierce but fair litigator. Kevin began his career working for the Solano County District Attorney where he was assigned to the misdemeanor unit. Kevin quickly gained a reputation as one of the top DUI prosecutors in the county, training other deputy district attorneys and advising law enforcement agencies on the investigation and prosecution of DUIs. Kevin also took on some of the more serious misdemeanor crimes such as vehicular manslaughter, sexual battery, and exhibiting a firearm. In his tenure, Kevin handled hundreds of pretrial motions, numerous probation violations, and various appeals.
After leaving Solano County, Kevin joined the Tuolumne County District Attorney where his work focused on prosecuting juvenile crimes and representing juveniles in dependency matters, as well as conducting felony trials. Kevin also became the principle filing deputy for the county, evaluating each drug and alcohol DUI to determine whether or not and what charges would be filed. As a juvenile prosecutor, Kevin worked closely with the probation department and local school districts in the prosecution and resolution of various juvenile crimes from petty theft and vandalism to sex crimes.
After leaving the District Attorney, Kevin worked for one of the nation's largest defense firms, Wood, Smith, Henning & Berman. Kevin's work focused primarily on insurance defense, handling a variety of complex civil litigation issues including personal and catastrophic injury, wrongful death, construction defect, wage and employment, and landlord/tenant disputes. Kevin's representation as part of a litigation team included working for multiple companies listed on Fortune 500 and aggressively defending civil lawsuits filed against his clients.
As a defense attorney, Kevin has worked to aid and assist his clients to navigate their way through the court system while working to come to a just outcome. Kevin has employed the skills and knowledge he gained through his work as a prosecutor to advise defense attorneys and prosecutors alike throughout California and other states.
Kevin has been selected by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star for 2021.
Academic Background

Kevin enrolled and began his studies in Criminal Justice at American Military University while he was serving in the United States Army. After earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Kevin attended law school in San Francisco at Golden Gate University. In law school, Kevin competed on the school’s elite mock trial team, traveling across the country to Chicago and Tampa, acting as one of the captains for the Tampa team.
Academically, Kevin excelled among his peers, earning multiple awards including the Witkin and Cali Awards for Criminal Law. Kevin went on to graduate in the top 5% of his law class and was recognized as the top criminal law student by the faculty.
Considered a rising star among his peers, Kevin's legal writings have been cited in letters to Congress and in briefs to the United States Supreme Court.
Specialized Training
Kevin is one of the few defense attorneys who has also been trained as a police officer. Kevin is a graduate from the Contra Costa Police Academy, having been trained on police policies, procedures, and investigation techniques. As such, Kevin is in the unique position to not only understand the concepts behind field sobriety tests, he’s actually performed them on individuals. Kevin has worked with law enforcement in the field and at DUI checkpoints to oversee field sobriety tests and drug DUI investigations.

Personal Life
When Kevin is not advocating for his clients or providing training to other attorneys, Kevin enjoys hitting the links at local courses. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys playing the guitar and being active with his kid's youth sports programs.
